David "Mongo" Rodgers

Wow . . . hair.

Yes, this is my glorious homepage [chortle]. I figured, since it was my job for two years working on the Aurora Project WWW server, it'd probably a good thing to have one.

I'm a fifth-year Computer Engineering student at Case Western Reserve University in beautiful Cleveland, Ohio. (Ah, the great six-year plan.) I'm also a brother of Beta Nu Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, maintainer of its website, and a card-carrying member of the "Former Treasurers of BN of OX Society" (there are far too many). The nickname "Mongo" was adopted primarily out of a need to distinguish between the three (now six) Daves we have in our chapter ("Crunch all you want - we'll make more..."). As for the nickname itself, well, I'm 6'4", 250 - you do the math. And for those of you who frequent Undernet IRC, you'll find me on as Protocol. Between maintaining my GPA, maintaining what's left of my sanity, and maintaining a semblance of a social life at this exciting and dynamic campus (notice a pattern here?), there's not much else I do here except work at Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation).

Anyhow, yes, The Aurora Project is the driving force behind the server you're on right now; nifty, isn't it? I was hired on as a web-grunt in Summer '94 and in my two years as the General Fix-it Dude and Big Honkin' Project Ombudsman, I helped pull off the Campus Bulletin Retrofit and the RTA maps and info, among other things. With many kudos to Chris Dreher, I landed a co-op job at Allen-Bradley, escaping the swirling fate that has engulfed so many other Theta Chis at LIT (ref: Eric and Jim). More updates to follow . . .
