Case policy is to mirror the Internal Revenue Service mileage allowance recommendations currently in effect. The allowance covers all automobile related costs including gasoline, insurance, and maintenance. Toll charges and parking fees, when supported by receipts, are reimbursable in addition to the mileage allowance.
56.5 cents/mile (January 1st, 2013)
55.5 cents/mile (July 1st - December 31st, 2012)
The actual cost of meals, including taxes and tips, while on business is reimbursable. Receipts are required if the total cost of a meal exceeds the University meal allowance. CWRU has chosen a standard meal allowance for all travel when receipts are not available.
NOTE: The meal allowance is not a per diem; it assumes actual expenses have been incurred.

Participation in the various airlines' corporate rewards programs allows the university to earn rewards which can be used to contain costs. In addition, the traveler will continue to earn the individual benefits associated with these programs.
Case Western Reserve University is now participating in United Airline's PerksPlus program for small, medium, or large companies! As a RewardOne member, both the traveler and the university can earn travel rewards when flying United. You earn frequent flyer miles toward your own travel rewards on United and CWRU will also accumulate points. The corporate points will be used to reduce the university's overall air travel spend. If you are not already a United MileagePlus member, please enroll by visiting this link.
To support the PerksPlus program, provide your MielagePlus number to the Case Travel Office (email@example.com). Be sure to use it when booking through a preferred agency and include it with every university travel reservation on United Airlines.
