*These incidents occurred off campus and did not involve anyone affiliated with the University, but due to the proximity to campus, Police & Security Services wants to inform the campus community.
Type of Incident: Robbery and Aggravated Robbery
Location of Incident: Robbery -
Charter One bank, corner of Euclid and Cornell.
Aggravated Robbery - RTA train station
Cedar/Glenwood
Date of Incident: Both incidents
occurred on Monday, January 14th, 2008.
Time of Incident: The robbery occurred at 11:25am and the aggravated robbery
occurred at
9:30pm
Incident Description: Robbery - A
woman entered the Charter Bank and handed the teller a
note demanding money. The teller complied. The woman then fled
south on Cornell. No weapons were seen or threatened.
Aggravated Robbery - A juvenile female exited a RTA train at the
Cedar/Glenwood station when she was approached by four female
Juveniles. The four suspect assaulted her and robbed her of her i-pod and
cell
phone. Case Police,
responded and arrested the four suspects.
Description of Suspect(s): Robbery - The suspect was described as a black female, 5’6”
tall, 150 lbs. with black nail polish, wearing a black hoodie, blue
jeans and a surgical mask around her neck.
Aggravated Robbery - The four juvenile suspects were identified.
Additional Information: Robbery -
There were no injuries and the suspect was not found.
Aggravated Robbery - The victim refused medical treatment and was
turned over to her guardian.

-To report a crime, suspicious activity or any

at 368-3333. Dispatchers will
direct the appropriate University and City responders for the situation.

Circle Police patrol the campus continually in patrol vehicles, utility
vehicles, bicycles, and on foot.
- Escorts are provided anywhere on campus and areas
immediately adjacent to campus. Request
an escort 24 hours by calling 368-3333
or by using emergency phones located throughout the campus.
- Protect yourself by using the campus bus service http://greenie.case.edu/ or the escort service rather than walking alone. Jog or bike during daylight only in areas you
are familiar with and stay within University Circle http://www.universitycircle.org/uc_maps_parking.asp# if you live on campus. Let a responsible person know where you are
going, when you will return and how to contact you if you go somewhere alone
outside of your normal routine. Trust
your “gut” feelings and avoid persons and situations that make you feel
uncomfortable.
- Protect your belongings by locking your
office/room door every time you leave, don’t leave purses, book bags, laptops
and other valuables unattended. Keep
valuables out of site in your car. Don’t allow “tailgaters” to enter secured
doors behind you. Report thefts or suspicious activity immediately to Campus
Police.
