Type of Incident:  Aggravated Menacing

Incident Description:
 Five resident students were walking northbound on Ford Road when a vehicle, traveling southbound toward them stopped along side of them.  One of the 4 men in the vehicle pointed a handgun toward them out of the car window.  The vehicle then pulled away as the men inside began to laugh and yell at the students.

 

Description of Suspect(s):  The students described the suspects as four black males driving an older model green vehicle.

This, along with other recent crimes on and near campus, is a reflection of an increased crime rate in the City of Cleveland in general.  Increased awareness for all campus community members is important to keep us all safe!

 

> Be alert and aware of your surroundings as you travel through the campus

   area and beyond.  Always be sure of where you are going and how to get

   there, walk with your head up noticing everything around you. Project  

   confidence that you won’t be a victim!

 

> If you are a victim or witness to a crime, be a good witness by getting a

   description of the perpetrator(s), vehicles involved, direction of travel etc. 

   Call campus police immediately and give them this information so they will

   have an opportunity to catch them!

 

> Look for programs on both the north and south side residence halls in the   

   coming weeks that will give you some safety tips, inform you what is

   happening related to campus safety & security and address any questions or

   concerns you have.
