Entry level video multiplexers DESCRIPTION
                                                                                                                                                      (Last Updated 19/05/98)

Crime is usually committed with frightening speed, leaving eye witnesses little time to absorb those vital details. And in many cases there are no eye witnesses at all. Carefully positioned CCTV Cameras will see everything, providing Security operators with valuable Live information of the incident taking place. But if the pictures are not recorded, then all this vital evidence is lost.

The Sprite range of Video Multiplexer's offer that latest dynamic developments in multi-camera CCTV monitoring and recording. Combining the essential multiplexer benefits with simplicity to provide a most practical means to record, view and control up to 16 CCTV cameras.

Sprite is available in variety of formats for color and monochrome CCTV systems, offering both simplex (SX) and Duplex (DX) formats. Eight rack mount version supplement the standard desktop models. There are also a further size desktop units with complete integrated telemetry control capabilities.

Duplex models perform two of the primary operating modes at any one time. So for example whilst recording, 'live' images can also be monitored within Multiscreen displays, or previous recordings may be reviewed. Simplex models perform just one main mode at a time and are particularly suited to users who's primary requirement is to produce high quality recordings from their CCTV system.

By basing its operation upon a unique 'teletext' key style, Sprite has been made very easy to use. Multiplexer functions, for example, changing the monitor to display a quad, is simple achieved by matching the teletext key on Sprite, with the same teletext key seen on-screen. Even those with no prior CCTV experience quickly pick up both the installation and day-to-day operation.

Each system is e-support compatible, DM's unique service maintenance initiative. this means that changes to the settings and fault diagnosis, including picture grabbing, can be carried out remotely, by the customers service provider, simply by plugging the system into the phone-line.

Added to their excellent picture quality and no nonsense features, each Sprite also includes c-bus alarm and detected movement interaction. These help prioritize operator and recording resources to the camera scenes containing active alarm events.

All models have been provided with spot monitor facilities. This monitor output can either be selected to sequence through all, or some of the camera inputs, or, to display a full screen image of one of the cameras.

BENEFITS
Multiscreen displays make live monitoring and reviewing much easier and less time intensive.

8 programmable function keys provide easy activation of preferred time lapse modes, camera record selections & cameras to be monitored for movement.

The schedule function performs automatically switching between particular programmed functions keys, for up to 4 different times of the day, for each day of the week. very precise recording options can then be run, without the need for any complicated operator instructions.

Utilization of c-bus remote alarm & PIR modules, dramatically reduces the amount of alarm cabling required. Simplifying the installation & termination process, therefore the cost of integrating alarms is much reduced.

Alarm & Movement detection prioritize the recording of important camera scenes to record more evidence is captured.

Relay outputs the energies on alarm (rly 1) & movement (rly2), provide operator notification as well as a trigger to set the time lapse VCR into "Alarm record mode".

Time, date and 12 character camera titles are indelibly recorded onto each frame for reliable evidence.

A second monitor output allows camera sequencing of a preferred camera scenes to be viewed full screen. Feature useful for those requiring a public display monitor as a deterrent to deter potential shoplifters.

On-board security. In addition to the user & installer menu passwords, mode locking protection safeguards units whilst in record, live, or playback and prohibits mode exit unless the correct password is entered., /P>

An automatic camera detection routine, speeds installation especially on systems employing a mixture of both color and monochrome cameras.

A selection table for time lapse VCR's simplifies installation and optimizes system performance.

'End of tape' and 'camera fail' on-screen warnings minimize the loss of important information due to system failure.

Model options with integrated telemetry control offer a complete single keyboard surveillance package.

The c-bus communication network used by sprite promotes improved installation standards and support, and enhances the system's overall capabilities.
