HR Supervisory Briefing: Addressing Employee Attendance Issues

There are times when an employee reports late to work or misses a day due to illness or other issues.  When should you track the time as an occurrence of absence?  What is the difference between pre-scheduled and unexcused time off?  How do I know when I should be addressing an employee via corrective action?  This session will review the university attendance policy and provide examples of issues that may come up in your day-to-day experience as a supervisor.

Multi-Directional Communication

For people in organizations to share in a vision of the future, understand how they will get there and work toward the same goals,
they need to communicate. It is vital to everything we do. That does not mean just one person listening to the other; it means both
people listening to one another. It means multidirectional communication between all of us – an integration of horizontal, upward
and downward communication. It is through this kind of communication that organizations achieve more accurate feedback, motivate employees and generates a feeling of inclusion on all levels of a company, and helps promote understanding within an organization.

When: Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
