NetWare Services -> Using Files on NetWare Servers
Before you use the servers...
...you need a NetWare account, a NetWare client, and you need to have logged into NetWare.
What's a network drive?
A network drive is a way of letting you use files on a network
even if the programs you're using don't know what a network is or how to use one.
Most computers have a handful of drives inside them,
each with a single letter for a name --
a: is for floppy disks; c: is the main hard drive; e: might be a CD-ROM drive.
All modern applications can look at files on any drive on your computer,
but not all applications know how to look at files on a network.
When you map a network drive, you're tricking the computer into thinking
the network files are on a drive inside your computer,
with a drive letter assigned to the folder containing them,
giving older applications the ability to work with them.

go to your desktop, and open My Computer -- there will be a new icon for each drive mapped along with your a: and c: drives and control panels.
