NetWare Services -> About Clientless NetWare

What is clientless NetWare access?

It is now possible to access files on the NetWare servers like Nobel and Pulitzer without installing special client software on your computer. Instead, you can log into the servers as you would another computer on Windows workgroups or AppleShare.

What is needed to get clientless access working?

Although you don't need to install any software, you do need to reset your password at http://www.cwru.edu/cgi-bin/netware/password3.pl before you log in the first time, even if you can already log in with a NetWare client.

About your password

You may already be aware of a number of ways to choose a new password, like pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del on your PC, or going through the tree menu on your Macintosh. However, the passwords you set there will not work with the new clientless system, and it is recommended that you do not set your password anywhere but our Web page. Any time you need to reset your password, please go to http://www.cwru.edu/cgi-bin/netware/password3.pl and pick a new password for yourself.

Unlike previous versions of the Change Password web page, you do not immediately need to pick a new password the first time you log in with the password you get from the web page. The password you choose will work for 180 days, after which you can go to the Change Password page again to pick a new one.
