What's New

  • 07/09/2001 - Boy...I really need to update this page a little more often :-) I have written an article describing the Compact Flash to PC Card adapter I built for my Casio Pocket PC.
  • 07/04/2001 - We just got a new cat! He's a 10-week old tabby named Charlie.

At Work

According to the nameplate on my door, I am an Open Systems Manager in the Digital Media Services Department here at Case Western Reserve University (impressive sounding...ain't it).

What this actually means is that I am the project leader and systems adminitstror for the CWRU implementation of Blackboard, a courseware system for use by our University faculty and students. The rest of the Blackboard team consists of Pam Hlavin (site design and support), Paul Jarc (programming voodoo) and Jim Naurer (unwilling Oracle admin).

I am also the systems administrator for the CWRU campus WWW server (Project Aurora) and am responsible for quite a bit of the backend programming on the system (mostly Perl with a little C thrown in for taste).

WWW Stuff
  • Ever wanted to use an 802.11b wireless LAN PC Card with a Pocket PC with only a Compact Flash card slot? I have built an adapter to do just that and here are the Instructions
  • Before we first moved in to the Kelvin Smith Library, a group of us got into the building and setup the first WWW server in the new library. I haved saved the page that we put online that night for your viewing pleasure.
