In 2011, the Ohio Third Frontier Commission recommended a $2.88 million grant to help fund the Solar-Durability and Lifetime Extension Center at Case Western Reserve University. The university and industrial partners DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions, Underwriters Laboratories, Q-Lab, eQED and Xunlight26, will supplement the grant with a $3 million cost-share commitment.
