Continuing Education Program
Opportunities to increase practical knowledge and skills are offered to human services practitioners in a variety of workshops, institutes, and co-sponsored events. Every effort is made to provide practitioners with information that addresses (1) current social issues and practical problems; (2) basic principles and concepts applicable to a wide range of services; and (3) innovative approaches to direct services, staff development, management, and planning.
Over 100 courses are offered throughout the year on campus and at selected off-campus sites. New offerings are developed in response to the demands of practice and to the needs of public and voluntary agencies at all levels. Social Work Licensure Examination Review Courses are offered four times per year.
Specially designed staff training programs are provided by contact with single agencies or groups of human services organizations. The school welcomes opportunities for such collaboration.
MSASS is approved by the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board to provide continuing professional education to social workers and counselors. Courses offered in the MSASS Continuing Education Program usually meet license renewal requirements for these professionals.
General inquiries should be sent to the Director, Continuing Education and Community Relations, Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, Case Western Reserve University, 10900 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106-7164. Brochures describing these programs are issued regularly, and individuals are placed on a mailing list on request.
