Completed in 1997 and directly connected to Emerson Gymnasium, the Veale Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center is a 78,000-square-foot facility featuring new physical education facilities for cross-country, swimming, weight-lifting, and much more. The Veale Center contains a six lane 200 meter indoor track with four multipurpose courts that are convertible to basketball, volleyball, badminton or tennis courts. Two rooms are reservable for group activities such as dance, aerobics or martial arts, and there are softball and baseball batting cages. Locker storage space is set aside in the center for students along with new offices for the athletic department and an athletic Hall of Fame room. Veale Center is open 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. weekdays, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
