Case Falls to Chicago, 5-1, In UAA Play
CLEVELAND, OH (October 18, 2009) - The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team fell to #11-ranked The University of Chicago, 5-1, in Chicago, IL.
With the loss, Case Western Reserve falls to 7-5-2 overall and 2-2 in UAA play, while Chicago is now 10-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the UAA.
The Maroons got on the board first at 21:42 when Sarah Loh snuck behind the Spartan defense and found the back of the net. Chicago extended its lead to 2-0 eight minutes later when Allison Hegel scored off a pass from Melissa Plesac. 
In the second half, Loh converted her second goal of the game on a penalty kick at 55:18. The Maroons added an insurance goal at 59:18 when Brooke Bontz scored off a corner kick by Brigette Kragie. Senior forward Kaitlyn Yule (Raleigh, NC ~ pictured) got the Spartans on the board with 78:43 with her fifth goal of the year. Chicago closed out the scoring at 87:15 when Emily Benoit scored from 20 yards out
The Maroons won the battle of shots, 18-7, and held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
In goal, sophomore Anna Kennedy (Evanston, IL) made five saves before freshman Katie Woodling (Medina, OH) took over the duties.
Case Western Reserve is in action next when it travels to face Oberlin College on Saturday, October 24, at 1:00 p.m.
