SPARTAN WOMEN'S SOCCER—2009
Ohio Northern Defeats Case, 1-0
CLEVELAND, OH (September 26, 2009) - The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team fell to regionally-ranked Ohio Northern University , 1-0, at Case Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
With the loss, Case Western Reserve falls to 4-3-1 overall, while ONU is now 6-1-2 overall. 
The Polar Bears tallyed the game's lone goal when Natalie White scored from point blank range at the 26:28 mark. Case Western Reserve had several good scoring opportunities in the second half but could not find ONU's goal. The Spartans defense, led by senior Katie Fromwiller (Clackamas, OR ~ pictured), kept the Polar Bears out of Case's zone for much of the contest.
The Polar Bears won the battle of shots, 10-8, and the Spartans held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
In goal, sophomore Jackie Guttman (Eden Prairie, MN) made three saves.
Case Western Reserve is in action next when it faces The College of Wooster at Case Field, Tuesday, September 29, at 7:30 p.m.
