Meyer and Mccutchan Named UAA AOWs ; Football Up to no. 7 in afca poll...
CLEVELAND, OH (November 3, 2009) - Case Western Reserve University fall sport teams recorded two University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week honors for the week of October 26-November 1. The announcement was made on the UAA website.
Senior running back Greg Meyer (Clearwater, FL) was named Football Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore middle hitter Tricia McCutchan (Hamilton, OH) earned Co-Volleyball Player of the Week status. 

McCutchan had 47 kills, 10 blocks and 14 digs as the Spartans went 3-0 this week. Case defeated Ursuline College and Denison University in three sets and Allegheny College in four sets. McCutchan’s 21 kills against Allegheny was a season-high for the Spartans.
Meyer rushed for a career-high 141 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown in a 38-24 win over the University of Chicago. With less than two minutes remaining and Case clinging to a seven-point lead while facing a critical third-and-six, Meyer scored on a 59-yard touchdown, the longest run of his career. Meyer also caught two balls for 22 yards. Meyer leads the UAA with 776 total all-purpose offensive yards and a 6.8 yards per carry average.
The football team, currently ranked No. 7 in the nation by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and No. 9 by d3football.com, has received 12 AOW honors this season.
