Brief Findings from the 2007-2008 External Review of the CWRU Psychology Doctoral Program:
The CWRU Clinical Training program has been rated highly, coming in at 23rd among 157 rated programs in the US and Canada.
The CWRU Ph.D. training program in Clinical Psychology has been continuously accredited by the American Psychological Association since February 1, 1948, when the accreditation process first began. Among 165 doctoral programs in clinical psychology, there are only 8 programs that have been accredited as long as the CWRU program.
Of students currently enrolled in our graduate training program:
100% belong to APA/APAGS
93% have attended a national convention
88% have presented at a national convention
88% have served as first author on a convention presentation
83% have collected psychological data on medical or psychiatric patients
60% have published a psychology journal article
40% have taught college level courses on psychology
33% have received grant funding (47% applied for funding)
Internship info:
During the past 2 years, students have averaged their top 1.5 choice in internship match
Over the last 7 years, 97% of grad students felt themselves to be better prepared than their fellow interns
90% thought their clinical skills and experiences were better than their peers
Overall, 97% felt their graduate education helped them become better prepared than their peers upon graduation from the program.
Among 30 of our recent graduates:
7 are completing their postdoctoral training
9 hold faculty appointments in psychology or psychiatry
1 serves as a Research Psychologist at the CDC
1 serves as Program Chief at the NIMH
*An external review of the Case Ph.D. Psychology program is conducted every 8 years. The next review will take place in 2014. |
