This program simulates two cars with a constant acceleration. The initial settings of the program place one car behind the other but with a higher initial velocity and acceleration. This car accelerates to an even higher velocity, passing its slower counterpart.

The students are given the values of acceleration, initial velocity, and initial position for the two cars. They are asked to record the data for five seconds at 0.2 second intervals and plot it by hand on graph paper as a homework problem. Additionally, they may be asked to find the theoretical "moment of passing" by writing equations for each car and solving for the time when x1=x2
To do the homework problem, the students have to do the following:
