A new textbook entitled Twenty Century German Theatrical Masterpieces is currently under revision. It includes comprehensive teaching materials focusing on Die Dreigroschenoper by Bertolt Brecht, Des Teufels General by Carl Zuckmeyer, Der Kaukasische Kreidekreis by Bertolt Brecht, Die Chinesische Mauer by Max Frisch, Der Besuch der alten Dame by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, and Ein Sportstück by Elfriede Jelinek. 

Each chapter deals with a play with author biography, work history, play synopsis, character analysis, text interpretation, vocabulary list, questions for class communication and presentation, written homework and final exams. It also has a section explaining basic literary and theatrical terms in both German and English. 

This book can be used for intermediate to advanced German classes at high schools and colleges and universities. The Yale University Press will be the publisher of this textbook. We will update you when the book is out.
