During the semester I am prepared to meet individually (by appointment) with any and all students enrolled in this course.  That is especially true, however, during the first week of class and especially for students with disabilities who are registered with the Coordinator of Disability Services [368-5230] and who may need individual arrangements.

 

Course Objectives: 
Discusses film making and German language and culture as they are reflected in the German movies covered in this course. The course will be largely taught in German.

 

Requirements:
Prerequisite: GRMN 202 or equivalent.
Reading assignments are expected to be completed by reading materials posted on the course website related to the film to be viewed and discussed for the week.

Attendance is your physical appearance in class and is different from your participation in written classwork and discussion. Your regular attendance is expected.
Written Classwork is your completion of question sheets as part of your preparation for class discussion.
Discussion is your oral portion of class participation. 
Film Evaluations are homework assignments. You can submit them either in class or by email.

 

Grading:
Grade: Your grade will both reflect your effort to improve your proficiency and skills and their actual improvement.

Attention: Your overall attendance grade consists of attendance, class discussion, and written classwork.

Unexcused late arrivals and/or leaving class earlier will negatively affect your attendance grade. Three [3] late arrivals and/or leaving class earlier= one [1] absence.  Excused late arrivals and/or leaving class earlier are for medical, emergency, or religious reasons.
