Internal Calls
Sometimes a grantor will only accept a specific number of applications from an instuition. In these insances, there is often first an internal call for prospective nominees. After a review of applicants, faculty/staff are then nominated to the grantor to submit a proposal. Should you find a particular grant opportunity like this and there has not yet been an internal call, please notify the Grant and Fellowship Specialist, for further information
Library Opportunity Fund
The Library Opportunity Fund is a grant program developed by Kelvin Smith Library and the Arts & Sciences Library Advisory Committee. The program awards funding to faculty to acquire interdisciplinary or specialized resources which will enhance the librarys current collecting, as well as foster collaboration between faculty and librarians.

UCITE administers the Walter Nord Grants, the Glennan Fellows Grants, and Faculty Teaching Grants.
Glennan Fellowships
Five Glennan Fellowships are awarded annually in the spring of each year. These awards ($6,500 each) are funded by an endowment established by T. Keith Glennan, a former President of the university, and awardees must be untenured tenure-track faculty members who show exceptional promise in both scholarship (through research publications, artistic achievement and other similar accomplishments) and teaching (through classroom teaching, curricular and academic program development, innovations in education within the discipline or across disciplines, or other activities).

Learning Fellowships
Learning fellowships are funded by the Provost's office and are open to all faculty members. The fellowships are for exploring ideas on how people learn and applying those ideas in the classroom to improve teaching. They are semester long programs and usually twenty fellowships are awarded each semester.

Freedman Fellowships
Three Freedman Fellows will be named each spring and will receive a stipend of $5,000 to be spent on curricular re-design projects to be carried out during the summer. These awards are funded jointly by Kelvin Smith Library, the Information Technology and Academic Computing (ITAC) group, and UCITE.

Nord Fellowships (currently suspended)
Five Walter Nord Grants of $10,000 are awarded annually, depending on funding made available by the Nord family, for proposals which describe new courses, new curricular approaches, or new teaching methods. They are open to all faculty members.
Teaching grants (currently suspended)
Small teaching grants are made available to all faculty members depending of the availability of other funds for this purpose. Examples of the use of these funds include items such as purchase of supplies or demonstration materials, software, special summer projects, and training sessions for use of technology. Proposals can be submitted to the UCITE office at any time.
W.P. Jones Presidential Faculty Development Fund
The W. P. Jones Presidential Faculty Development Fund makes available small grants (usually up to $4,000) to support the scholarly activities of untenured tenure-track faculty members in the humanities, arts, and social sciences.

World-Wide Learning Environment
The College of Arts and Sciences has been awarded a $205,000 McGregor Fund grant to support A World-Wide Learning Environment. The grant proposes to develop new and innovative ways to build international experiences into the educational lives of Case's undergraduates through travel, the development of international relationships in courses and programs through the use of advanced communication technologies, and innovative teaching and learning initiatives that result in expanded international experiences.
World-Wide Learning Environment Faculty Grant
Wright-Plaisance Fellowships
This is a fellowship for scholars interested in pursuing post-baccalaureate study at a university in continental Europe or in South America. Fields of study include literature, European and South American history, diplomatic history, and international law. Recipients must be U.S. citizens holding a bachelor’s degree, be interested in pursuing a diplomatic career, and be proficient in French and one other European language. The $20,000 fellowship will help defray the costs related to the program of study.
