MARY GRIMM, M.F.A.

Associate Professor

Left to Themselves. 1993

Stealing Time. 1994

Short stories in The New Yorker, Redbook, Antioch Review.

I'm teaching because I like reading and writing and talking about books and stories and poems, and I like associating with people who consider these things as important as I do. What goes on in the classroom is never predictable, and that interests me, too. I like what happens when one student volunteers an opinion and another students responds and a third chimes in, all of us having thoughts we've never had before, and might never have had if we weren't all there together, bending our minds to the consideration of these words on the page.
