Us with Strange Relation -- Paper by Victoria Alexander published here.
No links. Alexander discusses what she sees as Stevens' desire to make
sense of "nonsense" while remaining true to the fiction of poetry.
She sees Stevens undergoing a "willing suspension of disbelief"
by not taking the desire to find mimetic representations of reality in
poetry too far, and states what she sees to be Stevens' belief, that "pleasure
is to be found in perceiving the meaninglessness of meaning."
