Christian Fiala,
M.D., Ph.D.Dr. Christian Fiala is a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology practicing in Vienna, Austria. He has worked extensively in Uganda and Thailand researching AIDS, and more recently established the Museum of Contraception and Abortion, which will open to the public in May, 2006. His presentation will include a discussion of the challenges and satisfactions associated with opening a new medical museum. Like Percy Skuy, who donated his contraceptive collection to the Dittrick in 2004, Dr. Fiala found that building a collection of contraceptive devices proved more challenging than first suspected. Join us to hear Dr. Fiala, and his associate Dr. Susanne Krejsa, discuss these developments on Thursday, April 27, at 6:00 PM, in the Allen Memorial Medical Library.
Please RSVP via phone by April 24, 216-368-3648 or email: jks4@po.cwru.edu
