Bruno Gebhard, as exhibit curator for the German Hygiene Museum from 1927 through 1935, witnessed the impact of Nazi ideology upon health museums and exhibitions. Gebhard was a physician who chose not to join the Nazi party. He was inspired by his mission to raise awareness of public health issues and promote preventive medicine.
