OTTO GLASSER, a German physicist working at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, received international recognition for developing the condenser dosimeter to measure radiation dosage. This assured the safe use of radiation therapy and served to protect those working around radiation equipment on a daily basis. Glasser also attained distinction as the biographer of Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, discoverer of x-rays in 1895.
Otto Glassers wife Emmy and his daughter Hannelore donated his professional papers and related objects to the Dittrick Medical History Center in 1987. This online exhibition is based on this collection and aims to give an insight into Glassers life. Click on the image below to see images and read about Otto Glassers life and accomplishments.
