A job offer from the Howard A. Kelley Hospital in Baltimore enticed Glasser and his new wife Emmy to leave Germany in August 1922.

Emmy Glasser worked as a nurse before she married Otto Glasser.

1923

DURING his first year in the US Glasser considered returning to Germany to work as an assistant for his former teacher Walter Friedrich. However, with the bad financial situation in Germany, an offer of the Cleveland Clinic was much more tempting. Glasser was hired to aid Dr. George Crile researching the physical properties of living tissues.

OTTO Glassers private life was also changing at this time. On November 15 his only child - daughter Hannelore - was born in Cleveland's Mt. Sinai Hospital.
