August 2011 - June 2012: Environmental Heroes
What you do matters! Learn how in this free after school program for middle and high school students (minimum age 12), a joint program of the Cleveland Metroparks at the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation-Canalway Center and Case Western Reserve University's Center for Science and Mathematics Education. Self - motivated participants will engage in real science with naturalists and scientists, collecting and analyzing environmental data, and in developing plans to solve environmental problems. Only serious Environmental Heroes, willing to make a commitment for 2 years need apply. Youth will be selected in a competitive process to participate and will spend two weeks in the summer actively developing field observational and investigative skills.
Orientation is August 8-19, 2011, 9:30a.m. – 2:30p.m.
daily. After school sessions begin September 13,2011. After school sessions are on Tuesdays 4:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. throughout the academic year. All sessions are at the Canalway Center, Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation.
