Grant/Scholarship Opportunities for Undergrads

 

     Alpha Kappa Alpha Advancement Foundation Scholarship

Applicant must have completed a minimum of one year in a degree granting institution; be continuing a program of education in such an institution; demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, as evidenced by a GPA of 3.0 or higher; and show evidence of leadership by participation in community or campus activities.

     American Museum of Natural History

A wide variety of grants supporting research in various fields, including anthropology.

     American Philosophical Society

A variety of research grants available to undergrads, grads, and postgrads.

     Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute

W. Frank Blair Award Competetion for Excellence in Written Data Presentation: $500 award for the best paper pertaining to the natural sciences in the Chihuahuan Desert region.

     Department of Homeland Security

Tuition stipends for students studying anthropology.

     Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Scholarships for those of Hispanic heritage, must have a GPA of at least 3.0.

     National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Scholarship support for disadvantaged students committed to careers in behavioral and social science health-related research.

     Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education: U.S. Army Environmental Center

Funding for environmental projects involving cultural and natural resources.
