Orientation
The President of the CWRU Alumni Association officially welcomes first year students to the CWRU family at the University Welcome during Orientation. The Alumni Association is pleased to support the class t-shirt, which students wear for their class photo on the field—a CWRU tradition. The alumni office also invites students and their families to cool off during move in day with a Refreshment Station at the Alumni House.
Legacy Lunch
To welcome students to the Legacy family, the Alumni Association hosts a lunch for Legacy students and their families during Orientation. The Legacy Lunch provides an opportunity for students and families to meet and mingle with other Legacy families. During lunch, students can also pick up their exclusive Legacy t-shirt, compliments of the Alumni Association.
First Year Celebration
As a bookend to Orientation events in the fall, the Alumni Association hosts a celebratory end of year event for the first year class. The event gives the first year class an opportunity to come together and celebrate the completion of their first year at CWRU. Plenty of refreshments are provided, along with information about the Summer Send Off programs in the student’s hometown.
Mystery Bus Tours
This initiative aims to provide those second year students the opportunity to explore Cleveland and their broader interests with Alumni. These tours take 25 second-year students to an undisclosed location in Cleveland. Past locales have included Jacobs Field, the Browns Stadium, Cleveland Auto Show, and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Typically these tours are behind the scenes and offer sites not normally granted to the public. Although you might not know where you are going, you can rest assured that you will be in for an exciting trip!
Career Connections
Career Connections is a student mentoring program designed to match selected first and second year students with a CWRU alumnus for a shadowing experience and/or an informational interview during the student’s spring break.
Dinner with 12 Alumni
Dinner with 12 Alumni is an exclusive networking opportunity for a select group of undergraduate students at the Alumni House. During the event, tables of six students and two alumni are treated to an intimate dinner and have the opportunity to build alumni/student relationships and discuss career paths and graduate school. The event also allows students to practice their networking and etiquette skills.

Summer on the Cuyahoga Internship Program
The Summer on the Cuyahoga program is an exciting experiential learning
opportunity. High-quality, paid

opportunities, housing, and civic and
social events here in Cleveland. The
program brings together students from CWRU, Princeton, Yale, Colgate and Smith. Positions are posted starting in January of each school year.
Summer Send-Offs
Every summer, CWRU alumni chapters across the country wish incoming and returning students a successful year. Students and parents are invited to informal get-togethers with CWRU alumni and staff for an update on campus life.
Legacy Reception
The Legacy Reception is a unique pre-commencement event held in honor of the lifelong connection between legacy students, their families and Case Western Reserve University. Held in the Alumni House during commencement weekend, guests are offered lunch, an afternoon of great conversation with other legacy families and the exclusive commemorative legacy pin.
Tempus Transitus: The Senior Ceremony
This rite of passage kicks off Commencement weekend and officially welcomes graduates into the Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve University. The ceremony is held in Amasa Stone chapel and is followed by a formal reception.
Case for Community Day
This campus wide community service day brings together CWRU's wealth of resources to significantly benefit surrounding neighborhoods while creating a sense of unity.
REGIONAL PROGRAMS
The Alumni Association, Programs, and Events also partners with other university departments to uphold tradition, promote community within the university and Cleveland, elevate Spartan spirit, and to just plain have fun.
Chapters and Constituent Groups
Chapters and Constituent Groups exist to connect, engage and serve the university's diverse alumni and students. This outreach is achieved through strong leadership, dynamic programs and effective communication. Find CWRU events near your hometown (or in cities where you are interested in relocating) to make connections and network with alumni in your field. Build professional contacts that could lead to lasting relationships.
