New Strategic Planning Process to Build on
University’s Progress
In October, Provost and Executive Vice President W.A. “Bud” Baeslack III announced the launch of a new strategic planning process to help chart Case Western Reserve‘s direction over the next five years. The initiative follows the nine-month campuswide effort that led to the university’s 2008 plan, Forward Thinking.
“Over the past five years we have made great progress on the priorities of Forward Thinking and developed a meaningful sense of momentum,” Baeslack said. “Our task now is to build on that foundation and position Case Western Reserve to make even greater gains in the future.” Read more.

Recognizing Leadership Among Executive MBAs
The Executive MBA at Weatherhead attracts professionals with plenty of experience and drive; intensive and residency-based, the program also tends to turn classmates into friends. Upon graduation, the tight-knit class of 2006 wanted to remain connected, continue to learn together and find a way to help current students.
After three years of conversations their fundraising efforts led to the EMBA Leadership Award, supported by a $20,000 endowment. “These gifts have been generous and impactful,” says Amy Richardson (pictured above); they serve as a lasting tribute to the vision of the EMBA class of 2006 and to their commitment to supporting their communities as well as their alma mater.
