
Most of the meteorite ANSMET recovers are pretty small, as is the specimen shown here. Specimens of this size fall all
across the Earth fairly often, but without the perfect background and the lack of weathering in Antarctica, can be very
difficult to find. In Antarctica, because we can pick up virtually everything that falls, we have an unbiased sample of the
debris larger than a few millimeters in diameter that is arriving at our planet.
